1. About Loonie List
Loonie List is a directory platform that connects users with Canadian-made and Canadian-owned businesses across Canada. We provide a free listing tier supported by advertising, as well as paid subscription tiers (Standard and Premium) with enhanced features for business owners.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Loonie List. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. Business owners listing their business must be at least 18 years old and have legal authority to represent the business.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login credentials secure and confidential
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Providing accurate and up-to-date information
- Notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Business Listings
If you list a business on Loonie List, you confirm that:
- The business is genuinely Canadian-based, Canadian-made, or Canadian-owned
- All information you provide is accurate, current, and not misleading
- You have the authority to list and represent the business
- Your listing does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights
FlyFinder reserves the right to remove or modify any listing that violates these Terms, is inaccurate, or is otherwise deemed inappropriate, at our sole discretion.
Listings are subject to verification. A "Verified" badge is granted only after our review process is complete and may be revoked if information is found to be inaccurate.
5. Subscriptions and Payment
Loonie List offers paid subscription plans (Standard and Premium) for business owners. By subscribing:
- You authorize FlyFinder to charge your selected payment method (Apple Pay, Google Pay, or PayPal) on a recurring monthly basis
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
- You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at hello@loonielist.app
- Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period — we do not offer partial-month refunds
- All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and include applicable taxes
Payment processing is handled by Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal. By using these services you also agree to their respective terms and policies.
6. Community Voting
Loonie List allows logged-in members to submit thumbs up or thumbs down votes on business listings.
Thumbs up votes: A thumbs up indicates you had a good experience with a business. Thumbs up votes are aggregated and displayed publicly on a business listing. A business that receives 5 or more thumbs up votes from community members may earn a "Community-Recommended" badge on their listing.
Thumbs down votes: A thumbs down indicates a disappointing experience. Thumbs down votes are recorded privately and are never displayed publicly or shared with the business, but they are factored into whether a listing earns the Community-Recommended badge.
By submitting a vote, you confirm that:
- Your vote is based on a genuine personal experience with the business
- You are not submitting a vote on behalf of a competitor or with intent to harm a business unfairly
- You understand that false or malicious votes may result in account suspension
FlyFinder reserves the right to remove votes, withhold badges, or take other action at our sole discretion. Votes are expressions of opinion and do not constitute statements of fact. FlyFinder is not liable for the content of community votes.
7. Advertising
The free tier of Loonie List is supported by advertising. By using the free tier, you agree to see advertisements within the app. Ads are served based on general context and not through invasive personal profiling. You may remove ads by upgrading to a paid subscription tier.
8. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent business information
- Harass, threaten, or harm other users or business owners
- Use Loonie List to send spam or unsolicited messages
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the platform or its data without written permission
- Interfere with the operation of the app or servers
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
- Impersonate another person or business
9. Intellectual Property
All content, design, logos, and code that make up Loonie List are owned by FlyFinder or licensed to us. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the platform without our written permission.
By submitting content to Loonie List (such as a business description or photos), you grant FlyFinder a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and use that content within the platform.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
Loonie List is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:
- The app will be available at all times or free from errors
- Business listings are always accurate or up to date
- Any particular business is currently operating or accepting new clients
FlyFinder is a directory platform only. We are not responsible for transactions, disputes, or interactions between users and businesses listed on the platform.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FlyFinder and its directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Loonie List, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or reputational harm.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Loonie List shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice in the app or sending an email to the address on your account. Continued use of Loonie List after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
