Information you provide:
- Account information: name, email address, and password when you create an account
- Business profile information: business name, description, category, location, website, and contact details (for business owners)
- Payment information: when you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are processed by Apple Pay, Google Pay, or PayPal — we do not store your full payment card details on our servers
- Communications you send us (e.g. support requests)
Information collected automatically:
- Device information (device type, operating system, app version)
- Usage data (features used, search queries, pages viewed)
- Location data, if you grant permission, to show nearby businesses
- IP address and general geographic region
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Display business listings and search results
- Process subscription payments through third-party payment providers
- Show relevant advertisements within the app (free tier)
- Send you service-related communications (e.g. account confirmations, policy updates)
- Improve the app's features and performance
- Respond to your support requests

3. Advertising
Loonie List is free to use and supported by advertising. If you use the free tier of the app, you may see advertisements. Ads are served based on general context (e.g. category you are browsing) and not based on detailed personal profiling.
We do not sell your personal information to advertisers.
4. Payment Processing
Paid subscriptions (Standard and Premium tiers) are processed through Apple Pay, Google Pay, or PayPal. These are third-party payment processors with their own privacy policies. FlyFinder does not store your full payment card number or banking details. We retain only a transaction reference and subscription status.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
- Business listings: Information submitted as part of a business profile (name, description, city, website, contact details) is displayed publicly within the app
- Payment processors: Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal receive information necessary to process your payment
- Service providers: We use Supabase to host our database infrastructure; they process data on our behalf under data processing agreements
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial record-keeping purposes.
7. Your Rights
As a resident of Canada, you have rights under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws, including the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Withdraw consent to certain uses of your data

8. Children's Privacy
Loonie List is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice in the app or sending an email to the address on your account. Continued use of Loonie List after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
